La Verne Snow Days...

In celebration of "Winter", the City of La Verne hosts an annual "Snow Days". My parents have been excited to take Matthew to "Snow Days" pretty much since he was born. However, they wanted to wait until he was actually old enough to enjoy it. So, this year, we all felt that Matthew was old enough to enjoy the festivities, and we spent the Sunday throwing snowballs, playing in the snow, going on hay rides through the orange groves, and eating lots of sweet treats. This was Matthew's first experience with snow. He was a little skeptical at first, but as the day went on, he realized that throwing snowballs is a very fun thing to do.

Jacob's First Bath...

Unfortunately, after birth, Jacob's umbilical cord stump got irritated and had a significant amount of drainage, therefore his pediatrician had advised me to hold off on competely bathing him for several weeks.

Once everything cleared up, little Jake was more than ready for his first bath. I thought it would be fun to bathe the boys together. Matthew was very excited to help out, and Jacob enjoyed himself as well. He didn't cry at all.

I cannot wait until Jacob is a little older. I think the boys will have a lot of good clean fun together.

Christmas ~ 2010

Celebrating Christmas this year was extra special. Babies are such a blessing and a joy. Yet, babies seem to be even more joyful around the holidays.

Celebrating our first Christmas as a "family of four" is a Christmas I will remember and cherish for the rest of my life.

Merry Christmas 2010! And, Happy Birthday to our Saviour!!!

Brothers...

As everyone knows, we did not find out the gender of our second child. However, most people, including myself speculated that I was having a girl, based solely on the fact that I carried different, felt different, and craved different foods. Because I thought I was having a girl, I embraced the idea, mentally preparing myself for my new and upcoming adventure.

Yet, I remember a pivotal moment in my life, as my parents were driving away with Matthew in the car so they could watch him while Mike and I drove to the hospital to have Jacob, I became very emotional and came to realize that I really wanted our baby to be a boy. I thought, how amazing it would be to have to boys, so that they could be "brothers", "commrades", and the "best of friends".

Sooooo....My wish came true. A few hours later, as I gave birth to our second child, the phrase "It's a boy", was indeed one of the sweetest utterances I had ever heard. Second only to the sweet sound of Jacob's cry as I held him in my arms for the very first time.
