The last two Fourth of July's have been amazing for me. This holiday finds me very emotional because I relive the beginning of Matthew's life. I find it ironic that Mike & I have a Fourth of July baby, because we both love the day so much. The Fourth of July evokes, for many, so many great memories...Memories of summertime, friends & family, BBQ's and watermelon, almost burning your fingers off from lighting Roman Candles, and of course, the Freedom of our Country. I have many family members who have served/are serving our country so that we may have a safer and better place to live. So, of course, I do find myself emotional on this day. And, as you all know, Mike & I soooooooooooo wanted Matthew to be born on this day. The Fourth of July was my due date, so I thought for sure it would happen. But, God had different plans for Matthew's entrance into this world, and so July 5th was the day we was supposed to enter it. Matthew did, however, try so hard to get here one day earlier. I started showing signs of labor early Fourth of July morning, and then had my first contraction at 10 PM on my walk home from some Fourth of July festivities. So, for the last two years, I like to relive the moments of this amazing time, and remember one of the most incredible times that has ever happened to me.
This year, we spent the Fourth with The Iachelli's at their home in downtown Huntington. We had a great evening BBQ'ing and watching fireworks from their balcony.
Happy Fourth of July!!!
