The baby also had his/her check-up last week. Since Dr. A already did my 20 week anatomy screen at 18 weeks when I was having the pelvic pain, this visit was very easy and straightforward. All is going well, and my/the baby's numbers look well. I cannot believe how fast this pregnancy is going. I am starting to feel like our precious little one will be here before we know it. YIKES! I still feel great. I am proud of myself...NO ICE CREAM CRAVINGS AS OF YET! I have been walking lots and eating very healthy!
Here are my stats at 22 weeks:
Total weight gain so far: 18 pounds (Yikes)
My BP: 118/60 (Good)
Fundal height: 24 centimeters (BIG)
Baby's Heartrate: 180 bpm (FAST = Girl?????)
Dr. A told me that he needs to do an ultrasound at my next visit to check the baby's heart. Some of the anatomy was not developed enough at 18 weeks. But, all of my numbers on the anatomy ultrasound looked perfect.
My AFP testing all came back negative! HOORAY and thank you God!
And, Dr. A has to get the "money shot" of the baby next time as well. He does not even know the sex of our baby. FUN! I told him he can look, but no "spillin' the beans"!!!

Matthew's Two-Year Check-up...
Matthew had his two-year well-child check-up with Dr. Rees yesterday. He did very well. Now that he is older and a little wiser, and knows that they give "shots" there, I was quite surprised at how well he did. He was very cooperative and talkative. And, he did not cry one bit with his shots. He did so well, that we went to the "balloon store" after to get his requested "green balloon".
Here are his stats:
Height: 37 inches (95th percentile)
Weight: 29 pounds (65th percentile)
Head Circumference: 49 1/2 centimeters (95th percentile) ~ Does this mean he has a "big head"! LOL!

The last two Fourth of July's have been amazing for me. This holiday finds me very emotional because I relive the beginning of Matthew's life. I find it ironic that Mike & I have a Fourth of July baby, because we both love the day so much. The Fourth of July evokes, for many, so many great memories...Memories of summertime, friends & family, BBQ's and watermelon, almost burning your fingers off from lighting Roman Candles, and of course, the Freedom of our Country. I have many family members who have served/are serving our country so that we may have a safer and better place to live. So, of course, I do find myself emotional on this day. And, as you all know, Mike & I soooooooooooo wanted Matthew to be born on this day. The Fourth of July was my due date, so I thought for sure it would happen. But, God had different plans for Matthew's entrance into this world, and so July 5th was the day we was supposed to enter it. Matthew did, however, try so hard to get here one day earlier. I started showing signs of labor early Fourth of July morning, and then had my first contraction at 10 PM on my walk home from some Fourth of July festivities. So, for the last two years, I like to relive the moments of this amazing time, and remember one of the most incredible times that has ever happened to me.
This year, we spent the Fourth with The Iachelli's at their home in downtown Huntington. We had a great evening BBQ'ing and watching fireworks from their balcony.
Happy Fourth of July!!!

Matthew & I had a great time at Isabella's "Elmo" birthday party last Saturday. Matthew is really getting into parties now. He LOVED Elmo! I was a little surprised. I thought we would have been scared at first, but not at all. He went right up to him. He was also obsessed with all of the balloons. He tried multiple times to take them down. I had to remind him that we would have plenty of "Thomas" balloons at his party!
Happy 2nd Birthday Isabella!
