Annie's 32nd Birthday!

For Annie's Birthday, Tina, Danielle, Annie, and I went to Burke Williams for a relaxing day at the spa. This is our favorite thing to do, as we look forward for the next birthday so we can go again. After relaxing at the spa, we went to the Market Boiler for a fabulous lunch together. Danielle and I enjoyed a much needed pregnancy massage and lavender bath. Look at our cute bellies! Danielle is almost 8 months pregnant and I am 5 months pregnant.

A Weekend at the Lake

Mike, Pauli, & I spent our weekend at Lake Mohave. It was such a great retreat and the weather was amazing! This was Pauli's first time at the lake. We had so much fun watching her play in the water and run around the beach. We cannot wait to go back!

Eighteen Weeks and Counting!!!

The eighteenth week of my pregnancy was a milestone week for me. I am now able to feel our little boy move all around. He is one very active man. And, unlike his daddy, he is very much a morning guy. Go figure! My pregnancy is going very, very well, and I could not be enjoying this time more. Thank you God for keeping us so healthy!

Welcome Baby Kaylee

Kara and Jeremy had their baby girl, Kaylee Ritter on January 6, 2008. She is perfectly healthy and so beautiful! Seeing Baby Kaylee was such an emotional experience. Because Kara and I got to experience a portion of our pregnancies together, it made my pregnancy even more real. Congratulations to The Ritter Family!

Fifteen Weeks Pregnant

I am finally starting to show! My fifteenth week is very much a milestone in my pregnancy because I am actually starting to look pregnant. Before, I felt like people were just staring at me, wondering if I had downed an entire pizza the previous day. I am still feeling great, and, I am embracing my pregnant bod more and more everyday. Our little son is such a miracle! I love him so much!

Eleven Weeks Pregnant

Wow! Now that I am feeling better, time is starting to fly. Today I am 11 weeks pregnant. I am starting to feel very good. My evening nausea from 2PM - 8 PM has pretty much subsided. And, I can now stay awake past 8 PM. Only one more week until I am done with my first trimester!!! My little tummy is starting to pooch...At least I notice it. Many others do not agree, as they think I am crazy. However, as of yesterday at work, we started something new...It's called "pot watch"...Not "storm watch". It is the most bizarre thing. My stomach is flat in the morning, and by lunch, it starts protruding. My co-workers think it is fun to watch my "pot belly" expand throughout the day.

Nine Weeks Pregnant and Feeling so Sick

Our second Doctor's appointment was simply because I was sick. I literally had gotten sick with a cold two days after finding out I was pregnant. And, five weeks later, I was still sick. After playing "superwoman" for five long weeks, I decided it was time to go to the doctor. This is actually the first time I had met Dr. Anzaldo, my OB doctor, as I saw the nurse practitioner the previous visit. Meeting Dr. Anzaldo was such a relief, and I finally understood why everyone goes to him. He was so confident and so caring, as I was very tearful that day. I did not want to take antibiotics, or any other medications during my first trimester. Dr. Anzaoldo did prescribe me antibiotics, as I had a raging sinus infection. His comforting presence made me feel so much better. And, he did an ultrasound just to show me that our little baby was "okay". It was so amazing to see how much the baby had grown in only two short weeks from my previous ultrasound. After two days of antibiotics, I became a new person. My joy of pregnancy was once again restored.

Our First Doctor's Appointment

Our first appointment to confirm the pregnancy was on November 14, 2007. This was such an amazing visit. Angela, one of Dr. Anzaldo's Nurse Practitioners, performed an ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy. It was absolutely amazing!!! Seeing the heartbeat for the first time just blew me away. I felt a huge rush of emotions overcome me, and my eyes began to fill up with tears. Wow! It was then, that I knew Mike and I were in for an amazing journey.

Spilling the Beans

Waiting to "spill the beans" was enough to drive Mike and I crazy. We wanted to tell the new "grandparents" so bad. But, we wanted to make it special. So, we decided to tell them over a nice dinner. My parents wanted to take me out for my birthday...So, before we went to dinner, we presented my parents, as well as Mike's dad, with a "grandparents book". The look on their faces was priceless. My mom thought we were playing a joke on her. It was such a relief to finally spread the good news. After such a great announcement, we went to Wild Fish in Newport Beach to celebrate.

Two Pink Lines!!!

We are having a baby!!! I found out I was pregnant on Friday, October 26th, 2007. I had a staff meeting for work that morning. Apparently, everyone at work already knew I was pregnant, based upon how I was acting that morning. I remember being so warm, fanning myself frequntly, and feeling very flushed. I was also extremely tired and kind of queezy. So, when the meeting was over, my friends insisted I drive to Target to pick up a pregnancy test. So, I took the test....and this is what I saw. As soon as the two pink lines appeared, I became overwhelmed with emotion. I began crying. Then I started pacing the house. I wanted to call Mike, but I did not want to ruin the surprise. So, I drove to the Hallmark store to get him a card. I also bought a pregnancy journal. The rest of the day went by so slow, as I awaited Mike's arrival home. When "daddy" arrived home, I presented him with a card that announced the news. Surprised but excited, we decided to celebrate over a steak dinner at Outback Steakhouse.
