UCI Bones Bash...

Some of our favorite UCI Ortho. Residents graduated from their residency program. Of course, we could not resist a swanky evening at The Pelican Hill either. It was a phenomenal night, hanging out with my co-workers, who happen to be my great friends, and "roasting" our fellow UCI residents. By the way....Pelican Hill is "rediculous". What an amazing resort!

Happy 60th Birthday Dad...

My dad turned 60 on May 30th. He wanted to go camping for his birthday, so the troops packed up and headed to San Onofre. Unfortunately, I had to work on two of the days my family was there. But, Matthew and I headed out there in the evening to have dinner and hang out. Matthew had a great time. One of our friends has a parrot. Matthew and the "Eddie" were best friends by the end of the trip.

Matthew's Walking...

At exactly eleven months to the day, Matthew officially began walking. He has been taking lots of steps, but actually watching him pull it off was amazing. Mike and I were both home on Sunday. It was a great family moment for us to watch our son, for the first time, walk like a champ. I tried to catch it on video. Of course, the cooperation factor is very high. Or lack thereof, I should say.

Our Trip to San Diego...

Matthew and I headed to San Diego last week to visit my friend Trisha. Her second girl, Vive Vie, is now three months old. I wanted to get a chance to hold her and soak up all of her baby-ness, before it was too late. We had a great time visiting. And, I was lucky enough to see my friend Misty as well. Misty and Trisha are practically neighbors, so we all met at Mission Bay Park. After playing, we all headed back to Trisha's house. We had a great dinner and got to catch up. Trisha's three year old daughter Tru and Matthew had a blast playing together.

My Flowers for the Year...

Oooohhh...I almost forgot to post this. My honey gets me flowers once a year, for Nurse's Day. Well, it worked out really well this year. Mother's Day and Nurse's Day fell on the same week. So, these are my Mother's Day/Nurse's Day flowers from Mikey. Thank you babe! I love you!

Matthew's Walker...

Matthew's favorite thing lately seems to be his walker. He has been cruising for quite some time now. He began taking several steps at 10 1/2 months. But, because he has not yet mastered the art of walking, the best way for Matthew to get around is to use his walker. He goes everywhere with the thing. I have discovere that he loves to be outside best. So, we spend most of our time in the backyard. It works out perfect because he refuses to crawl on the grass. He has tactile issues like his mommy. He's just not having the feel of icky, soggy, wet grass on his hands and knees. I don't blame him. So, his walker is the best solution in regards to fueling his ever so curious mind. Mike and I get such a kick out of watching Matthew. He reminds us of an old man.

Matthew's First Trip to the Pool...

Several weeks ago, Matthew and I had a playdate with my friend Shannon and her 6 month old son, Kevin. Her parents have an AMAZING pool, and we were lucky enough to spend some time "poolside". Matthew loves water, however, he was not quite sure about the floating car. And, he is also really not sure about wearing a hat to protect him from the sun. Matthew refuses to wear a hat. I have tried many different types, complete with ties/knots/etc. No such luck! Oh well! Better luck next summer. We just go through lots of tubes of sunblock!
