Hot Date with Auntie Tina

While daddy was away at Lake Mohave, Matthew and I had a hot dinner date at King's Fish House with Auntie Tina. Tina had not seen Matthew since he was 2 weeks old, so she was very surprised when she saw how big he has gotten. We had such a great time catching up and enjoying the last of the summer sun on the patio.

Mattie's First Trip to the Fair

Mattie and Grammie
While daddy spent several much needed, relaxing days at Lake Mohave with The Ritter's, Mattie and I spent some time with Grandma and Grandpa. We took Mattie to the LA County Fair. He absolutely loved it! He loved looking at all of the bright lights and all of the people. He also takes after his mommy, because he loved all of the animals. It was the funniest thing...He just stared and stared at these crazy looking Watusi Cows. I guess their dark color and big horns caught his eye. And, I think I am going to take Mattie to the fair every night...When we got home, he passed out and slept a whopping six hours straight!!!

Happy Birthday Leigh!

For Leigh's birthday, the Ortho Clinic Crew all got together and celebrated at one of our favorite establishments, the Nordstrom Cafe. Of course, the party would not have been complete without Matthew and I, so, we made our way down to The Mainplace Mall to meet everyone. It was so nice to reconnect with all of my friends from work. And, no bones about it, Leigh...You are one popular girl!
Happy Birthday!!! We love you!!!

Shannon's Baby Shower

Matthew and I attended my good friend, Shannon's baby shower on Sunday afternoon. We had such a good time. It was nice to catch up with some of the old friends I used to work with in the P.I.C.U. at CHOC. Shannon was actually my preceptor, when I was a new grad. in the P.I.C.U. We hit it off right away and have been friends ever since. Shannon, and her husband Russ, are expecting, their first child, a baby boy, at the end of October. Congratulations to the happy parents-to-be.

Mommy & Matthew

Sleeping Situation

So, as you all know, Matthew has never been a fan of his crib, from the day we brought him home. He hates being on his back...Or does he? Mike and I have been trying to get him to sleep in his crib every day, a little at a time. He will lay in there for 10 or 15 minute increments, but that's about it. Well, I laid Mattie in his crib while I was getting ready for my friend's baby shower. I came in to check on him, and this is what I found. Matthew was absolutely passed out. He slept for about 20 minutes like this. So, it looks like we will be transitioning to our crib in the very near future. I will keep you updated on his progress. Keep your fingers crossed!

Matthew & Paulie

How cute is this picture! I took it last night. I laid Matthew down on our bed for five minutes to brush my teeth and wash my face. I come out of the bathroom to this....Momma Paulie had to come cuddle up with Matthew. She is so in love with him, as she thinks he is her baby.

Matthew's Two- Month Pediatrician Visit

Matthew saw Dr. Rees, his pediatrician, yesterday, for his two-month well-baby check. Matthew is doing very well. I was so curious to see how much he weighs. I was thinking around 12 pounds or so. Wrong! Matthew weighs 14 pounds, 10 ounces. Wow! That explains why I am up so much at night feeding him. He is a HOG! So, needless to say, Matthew is in the 95% for weight. He has grown from 20 inches at birth to 23 3/4 inches, placing him in the 85% for height. His head circumference is 40 cm, which is also at the 85th percentile. Our son is a growing and thriving little boy how checked out to be just "perfect". He is also reaching his milestones at the right times. Mike and I have enjoyed watching him smile and coo at us. He is just too cute for words. And, Matthew did has some of his vaccines yesterday. Mommy was kind of a mess in the morning, know that her precious little son would have to get poked. Mike and I have chosen to do Dr. Sear's alternate vaccine schedule. We are so relieved that Matthew's pediatrician will accomodate this for us. So, Matthew will be going once a month for two injections. He did absolutely fabulous yesterday. He did not even flinch while receiving his injection. And, no fever or reactions. He's a little tired, which works for me because he actualy slept about 9 hours last night, only waking twice. WOW!

Watching T.V.

The Bumbo Chair

I am so glad I did not follow the recommendations on the Bumbo box, which states "3 months and up". Mattie is such a "hog", that he barely fits in his Bumbo chair now. It was so hard to get him out of the chair after this picture was taken, as he was all sweaty. It was histerical! But, needless to say, Mattie finds himself being extremely happy in his chair...And, on the flipside, mommy is very happy because she can get stuff done while he sits in the chair and stares at the ceiling fan.
